Discover New Worlds Through Play: Experience Virtual Reality in Cologne
On November 4, 2026, the Bocklemünd/Mengenich district library will open a gateway to digital experience worlds. With the free participation program Discover New Worlds Through Play, the VR team of the Cologne City Library brings the fascinating world of virtual reality directly into the neighborhood.
Immerse Yourself in New Experience Worlds
Whether it’s your first encounter with a VR headset or you're already experienced in virtual gaming: children aged seven and up can explore various applications and games. The VR team explains the technology in an understandable way, guides the entry, and shows how virtual reality opens up new forms of playing, learning, and experiencing.
Technology to Try Out and Understand
The event combines digital education with an immediate discovery experience. Movements become visible in the virtual space, interactive tasks invite you to try, and different applications make technical connections experientially comprehensible. This creates a cultural and media enrichment for curious children, families, and anyone wanting to learn about virtual reality.
An Experience for Beginners and VR Fans
The offer is aimed at different experience levels. Those diving into virtual worlds for the first time will receive a gentle introduction. Advanced users can discover new gaming ideas and application possibilities. The district library thus becomes an open place for digital participation, shared learning, and playful innovation.
Well Accessible in Bocklemünd/Mengenich
The event takes place at the Bocklemünd/Mengenich district library at the Görlinger-Zentrum. The entrance area is fully accessible for wheelchair users. The tram line 3 reaches the stop Ollenhauerring, and bus line 127 stops at Börnestraße.
Conclusion: Discover Virtual Worlds Now
Discovering New Worlds Through Play offers free, family-friendly access to modern VR technology.
