Repair Café in Rodenkirchen: Repairing together instead of throwing away
When the toaster fails, the floor lamp stays dark, or an electronic household appliance no longer works, a practical event experience with sustainable impact begins at the community library Rodenkirchen. At the Repair Café on Friday, November 13, 2026, volunteers assist visitors in repairing broken items.
Know-how, tools, and sustainable action
The focus is on electronic household appliances and the idea of conserving resources. Often, only a small repair, some technical understanding, or the right maneuver is needed for an item to not end up in the trash prematurely. The volunteer repairers provide help for self-help and make repair knowledge accessible for everyday life.
Vibrant event atmosphere in the community library
The Repair Café combines event planning, community, and practical education. Amidst tools, conversations, and concentrated tinkering, an open public atmosphere emerges, where sustainability becomes tangible. Visitors bring their defective electronic household appliances and receive support in troubleshooting and repairs.
Good for the environment, households, and community
The event is aimed at people who want to use things longer, build repair competence, and consume more consciously. Organized in the context of the City Library of Cologne, the Repair Café stands for civic engagement, practical knowledge transfer, and a resource-conserving everyday culture. According to published information, bicycles are not included in the repair offerings.
Conclusion: Repairing connects
The Repair Café in Rodenkirchen shows how a defective device can turn into a shared event experience. Those who want to experience sustainability not just in discussion but directly can find expert support, an engaged community, and many practical impulses here. Bring a repair-needy electronic household appliance and experience the Repair Café live.
