Knitting and chatting together in the Nippes district library
On Tuesday, November 10, 2026, the Nippes district library will transform into a cozy meeting point for anyone who enjoys knitting and engaging conversations. The Nippes Knitting Ladies combine handicrafts, community, and a relaxed event experience in the Cologne district.
Yarn, needles, and good conversations
From 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, a pleasant event atmosphere will emerge where stitches grow, and conversations flow quite naturally. The shared knitting creates space for exchange, inspiration, and creative ideas. Whether experienced handicraft fans or curious newcomers: social interaction is at the forefront.
A lively meeting point in the district
The Nippes district library is much more than a place to borrow books and media. As a cultural meeting place, it invites reading, learning, lingering, and exchanging ideas. The event planning of the city library focuses on low-threshold offers that promote community and address diverse target groups.
Calm creativity with a personal touch
The event experience thrives on the quiet concentration while working with hands and the open atmosphere among the audience at the table. Amidst yarn colors, knitting patterns, and small breaks, a warm, informal atmosphere develops. This format is especially suited for people from Nippes and the surrounding Cologne neighborhoods who want to combine a creative hobby with social exchange.
Easy to reach and accessible
The Nippes district library is located in the district council building at Neusser Straße 450. The entrance area is fully accessible for wheelchair users, there is a passenger elevator available, and designated disabled parking spaces are provided. The Neusser Straße/Gürtel stop is served by tram lines 12, 13, and 15 as well as several bus lines.
Entry is free. Visitors can expect a relaxed, communal handicraft meeting with space for creativity, encounters, and good conversations. Those who want to experience knitting and chatting live will find a friendly meeting point at the Nippes Knitting Ladies in the heart of Cologne.
