Reading together, thinking diversely: The Ehrenfelder Reading Circle in Cologne
Literature unleashes its full power in conversation. In the Ehrenfelder Reading Circle, adults meet at the Ehrenfeld district library to exchange ideas on a jointly selected reading. Different reading experiences and perspectives are explicitly welcome.
Literary exchange on equal footing
The focus is not on academic analysis for its own sake, but on the lively engagement with a book. The monthly reading circle creates space for personal impressions, critical questions, and new perspectives on characters, language, narrative perspective, and literary quality.
An open atmosphere for book lovers
Curiosity, openness, and joy in exchange form the foundation of this event. The reading atmosphere arises here through collective reflection on literature: what starts as silent reading becomes a shared cultural experience where individual interpretations merge into a rich conversation.
The district library as a literary meeting point
The Ehrenfeld district library provides a fitting setting with its cozy spots for browsing and areas for exchange and inspiration. Amidst bookshelves, concentrated quietness, and neighborly liveliness, the reading circle becomes an author encounter without a stage: the work and its effect on readers take center stage.
Conclusion: Experiencing literature together
The Ehrenfeld Reading Circle invites you not just to read books but to think beyond them. Those who enjoy literature, open conversation, and new perspectives will find an engaging meeting point in Cologne-Ehrenfeld on November 14, 2026. Participation is free; registration via email is required.
