Stories open doors to new worlds
On October 24, 2026, ReadingWorlds invites children from three years old to a cozy storytime in the children's library of the Interim of the Central Library Cologne. From 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, small adventures for the whole family are created from images, words, and imagination.
Reading with wonder and children's laughter
Familiar characters like Findus, Lieselotte, and Zilly are just as much a part of the possible program as new and unusual picture books. Together, the children look at the illustrations, follow funny stories, and discover exciting characters. This creates a warm family experience filled with curiosity, joy, and shared time.
Age-appropriate learning fun in the library
The storytime is aimed at children from three years old and is therefore developmentally appropriate for the early development of language, attention, and imagination. Picture book stories promote vocabulary, stimulate conversations, and give children space to share their own thoughts and feelings. The quiet environment of the children's library provides a suitable setting for this.
An uncomplicated family morning
The event takes place on the first floor of the Interim of the Central Library. Participation is free and registration is not required. Families can simply come by and dive into the world of books together.
Conclusion: Read together, experience together
ReadingWorlds combines reading fun, imagination, and valuable time together. Parents and children experience a short, focused break full of stories, pictures, and learning fun. Those who want to give their child joy in books and language will find a loving family program right in the heart of Cologne.
